Downtown Toronto

Yesterday, after my weekly business meeting with my Marketing Partner, I decided to go for a little walk around downtown...

Our meeting was at a nice place called 7 West, which is just West of Yonge on the South side of Charles. A neat little 3-level restaurant with the cutest French waiter who came complete with a nice little smile and a friendly disposition.  My brunch consited of: Mineral Water (Italian, of course!),followed by French Toast -- served with pure maple syrup --  and a nice cup of coffee.

Our conversation drifted in and out, dancing between our marketing plan, the ever-fluctuating spring weather in Toronto, diets, how cute our waiter was, and other frivolous topics... We ended up talking about "Stargate Atlantis" at some point -- go figure!

All of a sudden, and thankfully after we had finished our meals, the restaurant became umbearably cold. Since my biz associate (notice I'm protecting her identity, since she doesn't know I'm writing about her in this, potentially public, blog -- let's just call her "Gaby"), didn't have a coat, we decided to go to Starbucks to finish our discussion...

Towards the end of our meeting, we got a surprise visit from Gaby's husband who stopped by on his way back to work from his lunch hour. Gaby then realized she had not added money to his parking meter so we decided to end the meeting quickly and going in our respective ways...

As I stepped outside, I realized that the weather had taken a turn for the better with the clouds breaking appart, letting some sun through to shine nicely on the streets. I then decided to go for a short walk before heading back to my confinement at my home-office.

After about a week of not going for my usual walks, it felt really great to go for a stroll down Church St, to Alexander and back up Yonge to Charles where my car was parked. The warm, sun-bathed pavement felt awesome under my bare feet as I walked up and down those busy streets. I, as per usual, got some odd looks from by passers but nothing dramatic this time. I was only glad to be able to enjoy some of the weather today.

I hope I can do some more walking over the next few days... I really love my walks...
